3 Concert Weekend
February 27-28
What an exciting weekend we had with three events. Starting on Saturday evening in the Butcher Auditorium at
Hiwassee
College in
Hiwassee,
Tennessee, we took the stage after “Rocky Flatts” performed a nice set of Bluegrass Gospel music. We count it a blessing to make new friends who share our commitment to present the gospel in song. The event coordinator Greg Blankenship who can really make those mandolin strings sing and his group “
Lakeside” performed. These guys are really talented and we were honored that they invited us to be a part of their 2nd anniversary sing. They were followed by two full time groups “The Diplomats” and the “Primitives”. We were truly blessed by their humble spirit. The fellowship was sweet and they were so kind and treated us with the utmost respect. We were honored to sing with them and to see their faith in God as they sing for His Glory.
Sunday morning we were in
Cambria
Baptist
Church in
Etowah,
TN. We were saddened to realize that pastor Jerry King was in the hospital going through some dialysis treatment and other health complications. A majority of the church body came to the altar in a time of prayer for him and his family. The spirit of the Lord was with us as we ministered songs of encouragement and the truth that our time here on earth is very important. We should all be “Heroes of the Faith” and continue in the spreading of the gospel through word and life example.
Sunday Evening we were met at
Harbor
Lights
Baptist
Church by Pastor Jim Powell of
Lafayette,
GA. We met wonderful folks who were there to worship. As the message was presented in song, folks made their way to the alter for life changing decisions. The Spirit was so strong through the service. Thanks for being such an encouragement to us and although it was a very busy and long weekend, our hearts are full, knowing that God used us to make a difference for the Kingdom. Pray for the BondServants as we continue to serve Him.
Prison Prevention Revival At Silverdale
This past week (February 8,9,10) we were blessed to be a part of Prison Prevention Ministries Revival meeting at Silverdale Correctional Facility in Chattanooga, TN. Monday night we sang and then Pastor Chris Hayes brought a message that spoke to the mens' hearts and four were saved. Then, Tuesday evening in a different part of the facility, we sang and "Coach" challenged the men to come out and not be oppressed by their circumstances and environment. There were three saved that night with many rededications to the Lord. Wednesday, our final night, we were blessed by the enthusiastic response of the women as we sang. God truly spoke to these women fulfilling spiritual needs. We were excited to see God use us in such a powerful way to speak to their spiritual needs. The women all brought pictures of their children that we were privileged to see. We spent time in prayer and encouragement with several of the women after seeing their pictures.
As the meetings concluded, the efforts of the Prison Prevention and all the volunteers had been used of God to see some 55 souls saved and over 130 rededicate their lives to Christ. Thank you Lord for letting The BondServants be a part of this great revival.
